The Process to Identify Sexual Harassment in Public Transport

The EMPOWER definition is the unwanted advances of a sexual nature given by someone to another. It can either be verbal, visual, physical and /or psychological (such as intimidation or stalking). Collecting data on sexual harassment can be tricky as quantitive surveys may not reveal the true situation. Therefore we strongly suggest qualitative data collection methods are also used to expand and validate the quantitative findings. This section gives guidance on how to do this based on the tried and tested experiences of EMPOWER. It also provides examples that can be modified according to the local context and requirements.
